But many shoppers don’t take full advantage of the savings the retailer is offering to customers if they’re just paying attention.

A shopper named Elise, known on TikTok as @MommingAndSaving, revealed to fellow Walmart fans how she keeps getting huge deals from the retail giant.

In fact, there’s a secret hack that consistently earns her savings every time she goes shopping at Walmart.

“Scan things that look out of place,” Elise said.

Elise noticed some produce near the bottom of a freezer that didn’t look too similar to the other items surrounding it.

“They shouldn’t be there,” Elise said as she approached.

Among the items were several ready-to-bake side dishes, such as mashed potatoes.

“I love just having random side dishes around my house,” Elise said. “It makes meal prep and late dinners so much easier.”

When Elise actually scanned the mashed potatoes page on the Walmart app, she was stunned to discover the dish was only $3. They are originally sold online for $7.98.

When you’re shopping for deals at Walmart, it’s also important to keep an eye out for end caps, Elise said.

Her local shop had an end cap with candles that all mismatched.

“Only one or two had sticker prices on them,” Elise said.

After scanning in the app, it turned out that the fall candles were priced at around $2 for a small one.

“I didn’t think these were great prizes,” Elise said. “But then boom.”

With a little more effort, Elise found the holy grail: a large spiced pumpkin pie candle for just $1 each.

“They smell super good and I’m someone who would put them in my home year-round,” Elise said.

As Elise said, you have to remember to scan any items that look a little out of place to find these deals.

HOW TO KNOW THE HIDDEN DISTANCE

To find other hidden clearance offers, you need to keep your eyes peeled.

Walmart generally places a yellow sticker on a product to indicate that it is a clearance item.

However, as Elise’s experience shows, the price quoted is not always accurate.

That’s why you should use the Walmart app to scan the barcode and spot the real deals.

This way you know the exact price before you take your products to the checkout.

However, there are a few more secrets to finding these hidden clearance items.

For one, look at the top and bottom shelves.

Oftentimes, stores use a strategy known as “equal to buy” to get customers to choose their most expensive products.

This is because shoppers often look at items placed directly in front of them first.

So when you’re on the lookout for Walmart clearance items, be sure to search high and low like Elise did in the freezer department.

GET MORE SAVINGS AT WALMART

In addition to being aware of the hidden clearance prices, shoppers should also check Walmart’s website for exclusive coupon savings.

It’s also helpful to consider cashback apps that offer rewards. These apps reimburse you for purchases of groceries, household items, toys and more.

Walmart shoppers have also spotted adorable baby essentials for just $10 at the retailer.
