‘I gave my best’ – What Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told Man Utd fans as he remained in England despite being sacked last month

OLE GUNNAR SOLKSKJAER has stayed in the UK since being sacked as Manchester United manager.
And he told fans ‘I did my best’ after a chance meeting with a group of supporters at a takeout sushi bar.
Solskajer, 48, was sacked on November 21, a day after the Reds were beaten 4-1 to Watford.
But as reported by The Athletic, the Norwegian chose to stay in the northwest instead of returning to his homeland.
That’s because his daughter is part of the club’s academy – although they may fly back to Norway for Christmas.
Solskjaer’s wife Silje and sons Noah and Elijah are already in Norway, with the rest of the family moving back during the lockdown where restrictions have been eased further.
Noah, 21, is a midfielder for Kristiansund on the Eliteserien side.
Since acquiring P45, Solskjaer has made the most of his spare time and treated himself to some Japanese food from a nearby Cheshire location last Wednesday.

United supporters thanked him for his efforts during his three years in charge of the Old Trafford team.
As he packed up the food, he waved to the fans and said, “I did my best. Thank you.”
Solskjaer was also certain to say goodbye to everyone on what was an ’emotional’ final day at Carrington, even pulling some staff aside for a private chat in another classy gesture.
United fans brought Solskjaer to the public by launched a large banner of the famous former striker which said ’20 LEGEND’ with ‘OLE’ was marked in the Stretford End in last week’s win over Arsenal.
United has allowed fans holding up banners after supporters approached the club for the green light.
And even Solskjaer spent time chatting with new owner Ralf Rangnick on the squad ahead of United’s draw at Stamford Bridge.
Rangnick revealed: “I spoke with Ole last Sunday almost two hours before the Chelsea game.
“He was very generous in spending an hour and a half on the phone with me to give me his insight and details on the team.”
