I fell in love with the non-league England side at Football Manager and traveled 1,000 miles to have my bachelorette party be the mascot

Let’s face it, a bachelorette party in Barcelona including a trip to the Nou Camp would be perfect for any football fan.
But what if you’re from Barcelona in the first place?

How about a trip to Milan and San Siro? Or Munich for the Allianz Arena? Maybe a trip to Wembley? Old Trafford maybe?
How about Alfreton Town Football Club’s Impact Arena Stadium?
Well, that’s exactly what a group of guys did to get their mate married.
And the reason why is spectacular and, to quote the man himself, “crazy”.
The story begins 12 years ago when Cristobal Novo Gonzalvo, 34, was on holiday in England.
During his journey he visited a small town called Alfreton in Derbyshire and “fell in love”.
As soon as Cristobal got home, he launched Football Manager and quickly started a file in Alfreton Town to keep his love affair alive.
After 12 years of passionately supporting the non-league side – currently in the sixth tier of English football and leaving Americans ‘disgusted’ with their proper footy scran – Cristobal got his wish to return.

The 34-year-old is due to get married this month and his friends have been tasked with organizing a bachelorette party for him.
They couldn’t think of a better way to say goodbye to married life than a trip to Alfreton Town… where he would be MASCOT for the day.
Cristobal traveled over 1,000 miles to get from Barcelona to Derbyshire to proudly don his Alfreton Town top and line up alongside the players for their 2-2 draw with Darlington Town.
The Spaniard has since opened up about his incredible day… and how his Alfreton Town fandom was born.
Cristobal told LADbible, “I was on vacation and came into town. It was wonderful and I fell in love immediately.
“As soon as I got home, I made them my team at Football Manager.
“I don’t really know why I love the team so much…
“It could be the red stripe they’re in, or their original name, or the fact that they’re a small town so far from me, I just love them.
“I was successful in the game, but I wanted to see her in real life.”

At his bachelorette party, Cristobal continued: “It was a brilliant day. The game was very entertaining and I felt honored that I made a mascot for the day. It was a crazy thing that happened.
“I was so desperate to see the city again that my friends arranged for me to come over for the game.
“My friends were impressed by the friendliness of the people. They know I like Alfreton and we have friends there and they decided to do my bachelor party there.
“It was amazing. I got to go on the pitch and meet the manager and it was great. The main event of the bachelorette party was the trip to Alfreton Town FC.
“Lots of beers were drunk over the weekend and we had a great time.”
Cristobal joked that his mother thinks he’s “crazy” and that he warned his fiancé about his “problem”.

He said: “My wife-to-be knows about me and my crazy problem with football and also Alfreton.
“I already said that next season we will watch Alfreton together, so hopefully they will win.”
