As a result, many have been looking for side hustles to earn a little extra income and help them better manage their finances.

However, they are all easy to do and can lead to burnout alongside your full-time job.

However, some side hustles are easy and don’t require a lot of work — aka passive income.

One of which was revealed by Yair and Chelsea, a couple from Arizona, Phoenix, in an interview with a local ABC news outlet.

How they make money

If you have extra unused space in your home, you might want to consider turning the dust collector into a money machine.

There are apps including Neighbor, Airbnb that allow users to rent out their properties.

At home, you may have various unused spaces including unused rooms and garages.

In Yair and Chelsea’s cases, they use an app called Sniffspot that allows them to rent out their yard to people who need space for their dogs to roam.

The cost of renting through the app is usually between $5 and $15 per dog per hour – with guests having uninterrupted use of the pool along with the entire garden.

It’s unclear how much the couple made each month, but they’re making it.

When they first posted on Sniffspot two years ago, they’ve had a ton of requests to use their garden ever since.

“At the bottom [we get] two reservations a day,” Chelsea told ABC15 Arizona.

And at the high end, it’s “six or seven.”

The income from the sideline depends of course on how long your garden is rented.

According to Sniffspot, you can start generating up to $1,500 a month with this.

Other similar side hustles

Musician Michael Serra uses additional garage space.

He was able to rent out half of it via the Neighbor app and make music with the other half.

He makes $180 a month, which is more than $2,000 a year.

And Airbnb works similarly.

Real estate agent and investor Graham Stephan said one of his podcast co-hosts, Jack, offered one of his storage spaces for rent.

“He ended up making an extra $100 a night just for hosting an occasional guest,” Graham said.

He added that he’s also seen people rent out some of their garages and make between $200 and $500 a month.

But Graham admitted there might be a bit of a “learning curve” and that it might not be 100% passive income.
