I discovered a mysterious ‘secret safe’ while vacuuming my new home

A WOMAN found a safe hidden under the carpet of her new home while she was vacuuming.

Liz, username @imthefookinglizardking shared a clip of her discovery on TikTok, showing off the locked safe that she tried to open and failed to open.

“I bought a house in November and just found a safe hidden under the floor,” Liz writes in the video. “The house was built in the late 70s.”

On the screen, Liz also added a sticker that allows people to post questions for viewers. “How the hell did I open it???” Liz asked.

The clip is 20 seconds long has reached over 6 million views and Liz updated the viewer about her progress as she tries to open the safe.

She said she tried calling both the safe’s makers and multiple locksmiths to try to open it.

In an update, Liz said: “I’m not here to waste time so: 1. I called Bundy [the maker of the safe], they don’t open until Monday. 2. I called the locksmith, got a few bites. Second for the next steps. 3. I found it while vacuuming. Clean the floor, guys. ”

She said finding someone to open the safe for her was harder than expected.

“I called the locksmith, actually I called 10 of them. I’m not kidding when I say about four or five of them say they don’t mess with the safe on the floor,” she said.

“They were like, ‘it’s really screwed to the floor, yeah, great we don’t do that. “Why, I guess they’re really challenging,”

In another update, Liz informs viewers that Bundy’s doesn’t have a combo set with a safe and that she’s going to find “someone local” to help her because it’s an old safe.

Liz has said that she hopes the safe will be empty “but this is definitely a fun mystery to try and solve.”

Liz is in contact with a man named Jim, who is a “notorious safe opener,” and she says she was previously quoted $700 to drill and open the safe.

She confirmed in the comments that she had arranged an appointment for Jim to come see the safe and added, “I gave his estimate tho. [sic] and he didn’t take me to the cleaning shop. “

While teasing the situation, Liz said she would be “hiding some crazy stuff in there for the next moneysucker to buy this house, and the tradition continues.”
