THE world’s oldest man has revealed his secrets to longevity as he’s about to throw a party for his upcoming 113th birthday.
Juan Vicente Pérez, who is now 112 years and 358 days old, has been officially confirmed as the oldest living man.
Just days before his 113th birthday, the supercentenarian, who is in excellent health, has revealed his top secrets to longevity.
One of his tips is that he still drinks his favorite aniseed or licorice flavored drink every day.
The nearly 113-year-old said his advice is to “work hard, rest during the holidays, go to bed early, drink a glass of aguardiente every day, love God and carry him in your heart always.” Guinness World Records.
His daughter Nelyda Perez added: “My father is in very good health. He does not suffer from any disease that requires medical treatment.
“The next day, after resting, he says he wakes up very well. The whole family is very thankful for my father’s health.”
Juan was born on May 27, 1909, in El Cobre, Táchira, Venezuela, the ninth of ten children.
At the age of five, he began helping his father and brothers harvest sugar cane and coffee – which explains his love of farming.
A family man was married to his late wife Ediofina for 60 years, according to Guinness.
The couple had eleven children and later 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Guinness said in a press release that “After long, hard days at work, Juan Vicente would spend his free time with his family,” adding that he still “loves being surrounded by family and friends while they tell stories and good ones.” having conversations.”
It was also noted that Juan has “extraordinary health and memory” as he remembers his “childhood, marriage, the names of his siblings, children and grandchildren.”
In 2019 he celebrated his 110th birthday with all his sons and many great-grandchildren.
He plans to celebrate his upcoming 113th birthday with family and close friends.
Meanwhile, a woman who claims to be the world’s oldest says she just turned 128.
Johanna Mazibuko, who lives in South Africa, credits two ingredients in her diet for her longevity; fresh milk and wild spinach.
The woman has two children and around 50 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
However, in Brazil, Maria Gomes dos Reis claimed she was 121 years old and had her birth certificate to prove it.
According to the certificate, Maria was born on June 16, 1900 in the village of Bela Vista in Bom Jesus da Lapa. She lives there to this day.
