I built a privacy fence – I thought the neighbors would appreciate it but they freaked out, their reaction was crazy

An innkeeper had built a fence for privacy and although he thought his neighbors would appreciate it, one scolded him for putting it up.

The bed and breakfast host took to TikTok to not only share his fence construction, but also to share a bit of neighborhood drama.

“You’d think the neighbors would love that, but yesterday a guy walked by and said, ‘I thought you were smarter than that.’

“More sensible than that? My god, he prune every leaf that comes over the property line. You’d think he’d be jumping for joy,” said the innkeeper.

He added a mockery of the neighbor: “He’s crazy.”

The B&B host captioned the video: “fence project and the neighbors hate it” along with some hashtags like #badneighbors and #privacyfence.

When a TikToker user asked in the comments why the neighbor was upset, the innkeeper explained, “He took pleasure in thinking that he would irritate me by cutting off any leaf that grew beyond his limit, but it was I do not care.”

He added, “The fence takes the fun out of it.”

Most of the spectators supported the innkeeper’s fence.

It’s not the first time a neighbor has been angry that someone has put up a privacy fence.

A TikToker (@DogeBoyMagic) documented her interaction with a neighbor — whose name happens to be Karen — after the neighbor called the police about her privacy fence.

According to the TikToker, her sister put up a privacy screen to prevent the neighbor from looking over the fence and throwing nails into her yard.

The clip The film begins with the neighbor walking with a police officer and explaining his side of the situation to him.

“She had it all, okay? She even strapped it all to the tree,” the neighbor said, speaking over the woman’s fence.

During her explanation, the neighbor keeps saying “my fence,” implying that she owns the property.

The woman intervenes: “The fence is not your property,” and the neighbor admits to the police officer that she does not own the property but rents it from a landlord.

“Okay, what’s the problem then?” the officer asked.

The neighbor said the woman needed to replace her fence and restore everything to its original condition because of the privacy screen she had installed.

Finally, the woman explains that the neighbor’s dog kept barking at her dog when she first moved in, and claims that the neighbor even called the police because of the barking.

“I put up the privacy fence. That was the first to be pulled up,” the woman said. “My landlord said it was fine.”

However, the neighbor had a problem with it.

The woman called the neighbor a Karen and claimed she peered through her windows to see her garden.

She asked her landlord if she could build the fence higher, and the landlord gave her permission.

The woman claimed that the neighbor “gets upset because I go higher, she calls the police and tears down my fence.”

She then claims that in the morning the neighbor cut up a bundle of branches to gain access to her side of the fence.

The officer told the woman to clean her side of the fence, but she said she would do it anyway.
