I begged my jewel of a daughter to get rid of her dog before he kills her – we must stop these nightmarish deaths

A mother begged her daughter to get rid of her dog two weeks before she died, she has revealed.
Dot Robinson, 67, warned Joanne Robinson, 43, “something bad” was about to happen before the fatal attack.

She’d seen XL “Bully” American Bulldog Rocco start fighting with her other dog, but Joanne insisted, “I can’t give him up, Mom!”
Rocco killed mother-of-two Joanne while holding her with his jaws at her home in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
Dot, from Wath-upon-Dearne, South Yorkshire, told the Mirror: “I warned her what was going to happen but she adored that dog.
“Our Jo had tried to do everything right, but they were just so big and strong.”
Sister Vicky Robinson, 45, said she wished Jo would listen to them and get rid of Rocco, but added: “I never thought the dog would ever turn on her.”
In recent years there have been an increasing number of fatal dog attacks across the UK.
Gran Ann Dunn, 65, was bitten to death by a pack of runaway dogs in Liverpool on Monday.
And schoolboy Jack Lis died last November when a dog attacked him while he was playing with a friend in Caerphilly, south Wales.
Joanne paid £4,000 for Rocco after around eight weeks when she saw a breeder in Doncaster, Yorkshire, advertising him online.
Dot said the two dogs are “like their babies,” but problems began when they started fighting last year.
They had to be separated, Jo had canceled a holiday to stay with them and was preparing to pay £400 for the help of a dog behavior consultant.
Jo, a caregiver for young people with Down syndrome, died after the attack in July.
Boyfriend Jamie Stead, 22, tried desperately to save her by fighting off the 18-month-old pet.
He underwent a skin graft for potentially life-altering injuries to one hand and sustained injuries to his other hand, abdomen and face.
He had called Dot and asked her to come because the dogs had attacked them both. She said, “Oh damn it, not again.”
But she said she fell to the ground when she got to the house to find Jo was dead.
She said, “We’re not getting along. None of us. But she wouldn’t have blamed Rocco for it.
“Jo was so, just lovely. She was always picking up waifs and strays. She was a jewel and was worshiped here.
“She was my best friend. She was beautiful inside and out.”
Both dogs were killed after the attack.
