McDONALD’S has reopened some of its restaurants in Ukraine to walk-in customers.

The American fast-food company temporarily closed its 100 restaurants in the country when Russia invaded in February.

But after yesterday’s reopening, hungry Big Mac lovers lined up to get their hands on their favorite treats again.

Yaroslav Holovatenko from Kyiv said: “It’s a nice gift from McDonald’s.”

The chain resumed trading on a supply-only basis last week.

They started taking walk-in customers yesterday.

Paul Pomroy, McDonald’s senior vice president, said: “We are confident that our reopening will bring a small, albeit important, sense of normality to Ukraine.

“Ukraine’s leaders have said that returning to work is the best way for foreign companies to support the local economy and the Ukrainian nation.”
