Huge update in case of charity CEO shot dead while lying in bed next to his wife after cops arrested unlikely suspect

An acquaintance of the FAMILY of a murdered CEO was arrested for allegedly shooting the victim while he was in bed with his wife.

Joshua Daniel Danehower, 33, of Arlington, is accused of firing multiple shots at a sleeping Gret Glyer, 32, at his Virginia home on Friday.

Police found Glyer with multiple gunshot wounds around 3 a.m. Friday after he responded to his wife’s 911 call, officials said at a news conference.

He was pronounced dead on the spot.

Officers arrested Danehower Tuesday night after interviews linked him to the crime.

He was arrested at Dulles International Airport where he was working.

Officials have revealed that Danehower was an acquaintance of Glyer’s but did not specify the nature of their relationship, Fox 5 reported.

A 911 dispatcher said that on the night of the incident, Dyer’s wife “heard a loud noise and believes her husband was shot.”

“She thinks someone came into the house.”

Upon arrival, police found the back door open but did not specify whether or not it had been forced.

The couple’s two children were also in the home during the incident but were unharmed.

Glyer’s wife Heather issued a statement thanking law enforcement and the “spilling out of support” from her community.

“Gret was my best friend and an incredible husband and father,” Heather wrote.

“He had an incredible heart for helping those who need it most and I know that legacy will live on.

“I know that God is with me and has a plan for my life and the lives of our children.

“We would appreciate your prayers.”

The assassinated CEO founded an online donation platform called DonorSee, which organized crowdfunding for humanitarian projects.

DonorSee launched an initiative to raise money for its founder.

“He left a legacy that will live on through DonorSee, changing the world for the better and helping those who need it most,” the organizer wrote.

Danehower is being hit with second-degree murder and firearms charges, WUSA reported.

He is currently being held without bail.
