Then, one of the warriors, Aela the Huntress, will talk to you and give you a glimpse of the Companion. She will tell you that if you want to join, you have to talk to Kodlak Whitemane in Jorrvaskr, a building in Whiterun.

Jorrvaskr is located right in front of the steps leading to Dragonsreach. Once inside, you have to turn right to find a set of stairs leads to the basement, where Kodlak can be found talking to Vilkas, another Companion. Initially you will be able to join one of two factions based on who you escaped from Helgen with, escaped with Hadvar to join the Empire, or escape with Ralof to join the Stormcloaks. That being said, before you start the faction quest, you can also join the opposition with your original decision, by talking to the Stormcloak or Legion soldiers while they are on patrol or in the future camp. their response.

After you decide which faction you want to join, you must go to different places in Skyrim to begin the respective quests. Note that joining one side negates the possibility of joining the other because there are no options for peace in this conflict.

He’ll note that you’re a prisoner at Helgen, so let him know how you helped Hadvar and he’ll tell you to talk to Legate Rikke about joining. • Stormcloaks can be joined by talking to Ulfric Stormcloak at the Palace of the Kings in Windhelm. Go to the orphanage and just kill Grelod, because sneaking or any kind of strategy won’t be necessary and you won’t be reported to the authorities. Return to Aventus to claim your rewards. Alternatively, you can also kill Grelod before talking to Aventus, to complete the quest a bit faster.

Either way, wait a couple of in-game days and then go to an mediation to get the message from the courier. Open mysterious note to find a fingerprint that says “We Know”. Now sleep on any bed and you’ll wake up in a mysterious cabin with the leader of the Dark Brotherhood, Astrid, waking you up.

Dawnguard Vampire / Volkihar

The art of a Dawnguard knight fighting a vampire lord in Elder Scrolls Legends

Exclusive to the Dawnguard DLC is a group of vampire hunters of the same name attempting to destroy any vampires in Skyrim. At the same time, the Volkihar Vampires are trying to find a way to get rid of the “tyrant of the sun” so that they can roam as they see fit. Joining either faction starts the same way.

First, you will hear rumors that Dawnguard is recruiting members, and doing so will mark Dawnguard Fortress on the map, at east of the Riosystem. Enter the watchtower to see an argument between Isran, the leader of the Dawnguard, and the wary Tolan. To show them how valuable you are, he sends you to Dimhollow Crypt to find out what vampires want to find there. Continue through the cave until you see a crypt with a female vampire named Serana, hidden inside a coffin with the Elder Scroll in hand.

Now you have to go to Volkihar . Castle with Serana, where you will meet her father, Lord Harkon. As a reward for saving both his daughter and the Elder Scroll, he will reward you with the chance to become a vampire lord like him. This choice will affect which faction in the Dawnguard quest you can join.

  • Accepting Harkon’s offer will make him turn you into a vampire lord, causing you to lose power. Upon awakening, you will be given brief instructions on how a vampire lord works. Complete it to officially become part of the Volkihar Vampires. Note that if you are a werewolf and accept the offer, you will only be able to transform into a vampire lord, you cannot have both.

  • Rejecting Harkon’s offer means you don’t become a vampire lord (although you will have the option to become a lord later on), and Harkon will banish you from the castle, although he will forgive you. You must report back to Isran to become a full member of Dawnguard.
