How the Los Angeles Lakers could line up if Kyrie Irving reunites with LeBron James for NBA glory

KYRIE IRVING is the subject of the latest Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors this summer.
The Athletic reported today that the point guard is on hold due to his contract with the Brooklyn Nets.

And one possible landing spot for Irving if he leaves New York this summer is Los Angeles.
That would bring a reunion with LeBron James, with whom he won an NBA title in Cleveland six years ago.
Irving could go straight on as a starting point guard, especially as Russell Westbrook continues to be linked with an away swap.
Westbrook, 33, has only been in Los Angeles for a year but hasn’t found chemistry with James or Anthony Davis.

Westbrook could reportedly be traded to the Washington Wizards while Bradley Beal is heading to the West Coast.
That would make for one hell of a backcourt with Irving at Staples Center.
The front court pretty much takes care of itself, and James and Davis are reinstated.
Davis, 29, is in his prime but had an injury-strewn season in 2021-22.
Dwight Howard is still the center of attention and will likely reprise his role when the new season begins.
The Lakers finished the 2021-22 season in 11th place in the Western Conference with a 33-49 record.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times last month, owner Jeanie Buss didn’t hide her frustration at the way the season was going.

She said: “I’m getting impatient just because we had the fourth-highest payroll in the league.
“When you spend that kind of money on the luxury tax, you expect to go deep into the playoffs.
“So, yes, it was heartbreaking for me to put myself on my feet like this and not get the results we were looking for. I’m not happy, I’m not satisfied.”
