How the incest monster was convicted of raping his niece who was also his SISTER

An incest monster at the center of “the most inbred family in the world” was convicted of raping his niece before it was revealed the teenage victim was also his sister.

Frank Colt was one of eight members of the 38-strong clan arrested after horrified authorities found the relatives in appalling conditions in the Australian outback.

Amid four generations of inbreeding, a court heard Colt attack his teenage niece in the back seat of his car during a visit to the family farm in February 2010.

His 17-year-old victim – known by her alias “Petra” – had previously told police in 2013 that she never went to school, lived “in a cult” and that “all my aunts, uncles and cousins ​​all have been sleeping together”.

Colt was found guilty of the incestuous rape of his niece in 2020, two years after his arrest in 2018.

But in a horrific twist, it turned out that Petra was also Colt’s half-sister, as the couple shared the same father — the family’s perverted patriarch, Tim Colt.

Petra’s mother was Frank’s sister – and Tim’s daughter – Betty.

The two-day trial revealed that Colt did not live at the farm but had visited sometime in February 2010.

Tim Colt also fathered 12 other children with Betty and five children with his eldest daughter Rhonda as the family moved between rural Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

His youngest daughter had several children with her brother Charlie, the trial learned.

Police discovered about 40 family members in 2012 living in a remote property described as an uninsulated shed, old caravans and tents in a NSW bush block.

The children slept in tents without running water, toilets or electricity and could not speak understandable English.

In a statement during the trial, Inspector Stephen Radford described the smell of urine and faeces in the living quarters and said there were no toilets or showers in the “commune-style living arrangement”.

A dozen children found at the property were placed in state custody in 2013 by a children’s court that showed genetic evidence all but one of the children were the product of incest.

The family had managed to bypass social services alarm bells by moving from state to state until locals noticed that some of the children were not attending school.

Betty Colt, her sisters Rhonda and Martha, brother Charlie, Rhonda’s son Cliff and Betty’s sons Derek and Roderick and daughter Raylene have been arrested after police raided their camp in Boorowa, New South Wales last year.

Martha was sentenced to two years in prison after concealing the paternity of her children, all of whom were proven by DNA testing to be the product of sexual relations with a biological relative.

Charlie – who originally faced 27 charges – was found not guilty on two counts and acquitted, with the balance withdrawn.

The Colt family is originally from New Zealand where Tim and June married in the mid 1960’s before emigrating to Australia. Betty is believed to be her child.

They spread to remote parts of Australia after the NSW farm was raided in 2012.
