How struggling households can get food stamps so much faster than usual

FOOD stamps are often given out to help struggling Americans pay for meals – but there might be a way you can get them faster.

If you haven’t received them yet, you may be able to get your monthly food stamps faster thanks to an expedited program.

What are Express Food Stamps?

The express version is used like regular food stamps – to help people in need pay for meals.

The only difference is how quickly they arrive.

Most food stamps will arrive within 30 days of states starting processing your application – but expedited ones can arrive within five days depending on how fast the state is.

Who is eligible?

Many states including New York, Oregon, and Texas have similar eligibility requirements.

To qualify for expedited food stamps in those states, your gross income for the month must be less than $150.

In addition, your liquidity resources should not exceed $99.

Some migrants and seasonal farmers may also be eligible for food stamps.

The amount you receive in benefits will depend on your state.

For example, under the new push, New York is expected to receive an additional $1,440 in SNAP benefits, which equates to an additional $120 per month, according to estimates from Ministry of Agriculture (USDA).

On the other hand, a smaller state like Oregon would get just $337 more in benefits — just over $28 per month.

A USDA spokesman told The Sun that “subsidy is available to every state that chooses to use it.”

How to get fast food stamps

Assuming you’re eligible, you’ll need to fill out an application.

When filling out the application, you may need a birth certificate, driver’s license, or Social Security card to prove your identity.

You may also need bank statements and bank books.
