In May 2022, Romijn and O’Connell sat down on The Talk, where they opened up about their previous marriage and their encounter.

The couple revealed they met while Romijn was on a date with another man.

At the time, Romijn had just split from her then-husband and started dating and was out with someone when O’Connell’s friend advised him to get her number, reports ET.

Romijn went on to speak openly about her divorce, revealing that she was still depressed even during her time with O’Connell.

“Going through a divorce is terrible, it’s terrible,” Romijn said at the time.

“I was with [Stamos] for 10 years. Divorce feels like a failure and there were a lot of things I had to let go of that were very sad.”

Despite the breakup, Romijn still remembers the fond memories she had with her ex.

“When I’m with you in person and hear you talk about your ex-husband, it sounds like it was fun,” O’Connell said. “You always have really funny memories.”

“I do, I have a lot of really fun memories,” Romijn continued. “I have many fond memories of him. Lots of things about him that I miss. But yeah, it’s tricky. It is a very difficult decision to come to when deciding to end a marriage. It was heartbreaking.”

In 2018, Stamos remarried to American actress, author, and model Caitlin McHugh.
