The two divorced in 1974, with Bennett said to have lost all future record earnings because of her allegation that Spector threatened her with a “murderer”.

She said falling in love with the producer was a “fairy tale” and that the music they made was “inspired by their love.”

Bennet died after a short battle against cancer on January 12, 2022, as confirmed by her family via the singer’s website.

In a statement, her family wrote: “Ronnie has lived her life with sparkling eyes, alert demeanor, sense of humor and a smile on her face,” her family said.

“She was filled with love and gratitude.”

In September 2006, Spector married his girlfriend Rachelle Short.
