How does Target’s pickup service work?

Target’s Order Pickup service allows customers to order items on either or the Target app and then pick them up at a Target location near them.

Order pickup availability is listed on the item’s page.

Customers must select the “Pickup” option before adding the item to their cart.

Orders are typically ready within two hours and you will receive an email when they are ready for pickup.

However, in some stores it can take up to six hours to prepare an order.

Customers can check the pickup time on the item’s detail page to manage their order fulfillment expectations.

Once an order is ready for pickup, shoppers can go to the store to pick up their order from Guest Services or at the designated pickup location.

Alternatively, shoppers can opt for the drive-up option by shopping through the Target app.

With Drive Up, Target employees bring a customer’s orders to their car as soon as they arrive at the store.

The Drive Up feature is only available in the Target app for iOS and Android.

How long does Target hold pickup orders?

Orders placed through Order Pickup and Drive Up are typically held for three days.

However, this rule only applies to orders that do not contain fresh or frozen foods or Starbucks items.

If a customer’s order contains perishable goods, it will only be held until the end of the next business day.

If there’s an item from Starbucks, Target can only keep it fresh for 30 minutes.

Orders containing only non-perishable goods may be subject to an extended retention period, provided the buyer manually extends it on the order details page.

Refunds will be made using the buyer’s original payment method used for the purchase.

Refunds on a Target RedCard typically take two days, while refunds on third-party credit cards can take up to five days.
