He first suffered the oblique injury on September 4, 2023 during a swing during batting practice.

The baseball star also tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow on August 23, 2023.

According to the outlet, he is “expected to require surgery for the ACL tear,” “although there is a possibility that he could avoid a second Tommy John surgery as the tear is in a different part of his ACL tear than in 2018.”
