How do I change the time in my car?

MARCH brings another clock change as we change to British Summer Time (BST).

Make sure you change all your clocks: analog, on your device, and in your car so you don’t accidentally arrive at work an hour late.

How do I change the time in my car?

Of all the devices that you need to update, your car clock is probably the most important as you can easily forget it and get confused with the time.

Here’s how to change the time on your car.

Since all cars operate differently, the first thing you should do is check the manufacturer’s manual.

As a general rule, the buttons on the dashboard will help you set the time right in your car because its watch is usually connected to the radio.

You’ll need to press the “menu” or the “clock” button to access the time settings menu.

By pressing the “volume” buttons, you will be able to adjust the hours and minutes.

Once done, be sure to tap the “set” or “clock” button again and you’re good to go.

Can my car change the time automatically?

Some modern cars have GPS systems that will allow you to do this.

They will be able to synchronize the car’s clock with the global positioning satellite signal, and so they will automatically change the time according to the area you are in.

Otherwise, some cars have a Summer Time option in the settings shown above, but not all because cars are manufactured differently.

What else do I need to do to change the entry time?

Make sure to change your time on whatever device you may have.

So it will be yours: phone, TV, tablet, laptop, anything of the sort.

Also, if you still have some analog watches around, keep in mind that they can only be changed manually.

The clock always goes back one hour on the last Sunday in October and forwards on the last Sunday in March, but the date changes every year.

There is a useful phrase to memorize to help avoid confusion – “spring goes on, autumn returns”.

The reason the clock was changed was to make better use of daylight.

When the clocks go back in October, there’s more daylight in the morning – and less in the evening.

When we change to British Summer Time, we move one hour of daylight from morning to evening.
