How Chelsea could line up under Graham Potter with Cristiano Ronaldo at the forefront of attack as Boehly finally gets a transfer request

GRAHAM POTTER is in the running to replace Thomas Tuchel as Chelsea manager.

The Brighton boss is top of the Blues’ shortlist to fill the void left by Tuchel, who was axed on Wednesday morning.

SunSport understand the west Londoners have approached Brighton for permission to speak to the 47-year-old.

Brighton are likely to demand a hefty fee from the Blues to part ways with their manager – who has three years left on his contract at the Amex Stadium.

Should Chelsea secure Potter’s services, he could be tempted to bring some of his high-flying Brighton stars to Stamford Bridge.

And could even end up managing would-be Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ecuador international Moises Caidcedo could be among the players poached from Brighton in the January transfer window.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer and has impressed several clubs with his recent performances.

Adam Webster could also follow Potter to west London as the Blues are reportedly interested in signing him this summer.

And if club co-owner Todd Bohely has his way, Potter could very well be managing five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo.

The American was keen to sign Chelsea forward in the summer.

But the recently axed Tuchel vetoed the 37-year-old’s signing.

Boehly is said to still be keen on bringing Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge, meaning Potter could soon be managing the global superstar – assuming he gets the job.

Chelsea’s first game of the post-Tuchel era is on Saturday and will see them travel to Craven Cottage to take on their west London neighbors Fulham.

Brighton, meanwhile, meet Bournemouth in a duel on the south coast the same afternoon.
