How Arsenal could line up under Patrick Vieira including Wilfried Zaha after Piers Morgan demands the legend replace Arteta

ARSENAL should sack Mikel Arteta and replace him with club legend Patrick Vieira, says Piers Morgan.

The famous gooner was furious last night after watching his beloved team be beaten 3-0 by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The result could be a major blow in the race for Champions League football – as Spurs have edged the Gunners to fourth place.

Arsenal have made great strides under Arteta this season but Morgan isn’t satisfied.

Following the north Londoners’ 2-2 draw with Vieiras Crystal Palace at the Emirates in October, the 57-year-old tweeted a photo of himself with the Frenchman with the caption: “We’ve got the wrong ex-Arsenal captain in charge. Based on today’s evidence, this is the guy we need.”

After last night’s shellac, Morgan quoted his previous tweet, adding, “Deja vu.”

Given the improvements made this season, it seems unlikely the Gunners would actually sack Arteta anytime soon – even if they ended up outside the top four.

But if they’ve followed Morgan’s wishes, let’s examine what they might look like to settle under Vieira.

Aaron Ramsdale would likely keep his spot between the posts while Takehiro Tomiyasu is a steady influence at right-back.

Ben White has shown enough in this tenure but after Gabriel Magalhaes’ nightmare yesterday, Vieira could perhaps look to replace him.

Striking a deal would be costly but challenging the boat to sign outstanding Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi would certainly solidify the Gunners’ back line.

Kieran Tierney would complete the back four provided he can stay away from injuries like his recent knee problem.

Vieira has tinkered with his formation this season but often employed a 4-3-3 at Selhurst.

Doing this again could give Arsenal an incredibly offensive lineup to hit teams with.

With the impressive Thomas Partey at the base of midfield, Vieira would need further energy and creativity around the Ghanaian.

Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe could alternate on one side – while Conor Gallagher would be the perfect signing on the other.

Landing him from parent club Chelsea might be difficult, but the all-action midfielder has been sensational for Vieira this season and would provide the non-stop industry to get the formation up and running.

Morgan vented his anger on Alex Lacazette last night, pointing to the Frenchman’s “18 HOURS of Premier League football without goals in open play”.

So in his dream scenario the skipper would certainly be replaced with Alexander Isak a brilliant potential solution at the helm.

Bukayo Saka would continue to thrive under Vieira, with the former Nice manager showing his ability to nurture young talent at Palace this season.

While Wilfried Zaha could finally join Arsenal, he has been linked with a move to the Emirates for years.

With a year left on his current contract this summer, it could finally be time for Zaha, 29, to get his second chance at a transfer away from Palace.
