The Germany ace, 24, was playing against Thiago Monteiro at the Davis Cup in Rio de Janeiro when the incident reportedly happened.

The Express claims some members of the crowd attacked Zverev and his family over the domestic violence allegations made by his ex-girlfriend last year.

Olga Sharypova claimed that world No. 3 Zverev physically and emotionally abused her during the 2019 ATP Masters 1000 event in Shanghai.

And the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) confirmed in October that it had launched an internal investigation into the allegations.

Zverev denies all allegations.

In a statement, Zverev said: “I have always fully supported the creation of an ATP policy on domestic violence.

“Furthermore, I welcome the ATP investigation into the matter and have been urging ATP for months to launch an independent investigation.

“As previously stated, I categorically and unequivocally deny each of these allegations

But Zverev wasn’t happy with Brazilian viewers singing to him and his family about it.

He said: “When it comes to your family members or when it comes to someone you love, I draw the line of respect here.

“Today this limit was exceeded. And [it happened] during practically every single game we’ve played.”

Zverev’s comments come less than a month after he was booted out of the Mexican Open over an incredible tantrum.

MEXICAN STANDOFF

After losing to Lloyd Glasspool and Harri Heliovaara, Zverev shook hands with his opponents before smashing his racquet violently into the umpire’s chair three times.

He then verbally abused the officer before delivering another hit with his bat.

Zverev blurted out: “You destroyed the whole damn match. The whole damn match.”

He also raged during the game: “Look where the ball bounced. It’s 8-6 in the tiebreak, look where the ball bounced. For heaven’s sake, that’s your line.

“It’s your bloody line. You bloody idiot.”
