The man, dubbed Ruan by local media, was struck by lightning during a wedding photoshoot with his fiancee on Spruce Meadow, a popular vantage point.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the South China Morning Post reported.
Despite the thunderstorm, the couple decided to go ahead with the planned photo shoot.
The local weather agency had issued a yellow thunder and lightning alert, the third highest among China’s four-tier warning system, about half an hour before the lightning struck.

Those who stood near the victim were unharmed.
Footage shows the rescue crew carrying the man on a stretcher in heavy rain.
