ONE STORE’s slide DON’T BE TWICE in this horrifying video knocking her to death – but she was saved at the last moment.
Maud Perrin, 20, was trying to do a move known as the ‘twisted infinity roll’ when disaster struck.
A timing miscalculation resulted in Maud falling into the arch of her parachute and twisting in the straps of her parachute.
Then, the quick-thinking paraglider from France pulled her reserve chute as she plunged to the ground, but it also failed to open.
Maud then had to put all her hopes on the second reserve opening as that was the only thing stopping her from falling to her death.
Fortunately, the slide opened up and, after initially getting tangled in cables and belts, Maud managed to drop into the skies over Ölüdeniz, Turkey.
Maud, a freestyle paraglider pilot, said: “I tried a move called the ‘Infinity Twist’.
“While trying to maneuver, I fell into a tree canopy after pulling at the wrong time and then tried to tow both of my reserves. The first one didn’t open so I had to tow my second reserve. .
“I’m just managing the situation. The only moment I’m thinking – otherwise I’m just acting – is when I see my first reserve isn’t open – and I have to take the other out.
“At that point, I thought ‘this is basically my last chance so it has to be open’.
“The second sanctuary opened. I ended up in the water and the boat came to pick me up.
“Olu Deniz is where you can be more adventurous when it comes to trying new things because you’re at high altitude and there’s a lifeboat coming to pick you up.
“After watching my videos over and over again, I came up with the right way to drain my reserves so that the video opens or opens faster.
“I also saw what I was doing wrong in the way I cut time, so I didn’t do it that way anymore.
“I tried the lake maneuver again at Annecy and it went well. Now I can train it on the ground.”
The scene was taken on October 23.
