THIS is the terrifying moment when a US military jet pilot yelled “We can’t do it” after a bird flew into the plane’s engine.
The incident led to the crash of the military plane in a Lake Worth, Texas neighborhood last year.
The pilot and a student conducted a routine training flight to Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth
The pair had to eject from the T-45C Goshawk jet trainer prior to impact.
Nearly a year later, dramatic footage released by the US military reveals the couple’s horrific moments before the crash.
As a couple of birds fly overhead, one of them suddenly gets sucked into the jet’s engine.
One of the pilots yells “S***” while preparing for an emergency landing.
He then yells, “We’re not going to make it! Ready to disembark. Pull up! Pull up!” while an alarm sounds in the background.
The chilling clip ends just before the plane hits the ground between the 4000 blocks of Texas and Dakota.
The pilot was only slightly injured after the crash.
The student suffered burns after his parachutes got caught in power lines – causing mass power outages.
The shocking crash displaced residents of up to six affected homes, but no injuries were reported.
Lake Worth Fire Chief Ryan Arthur said at the time it “could have been a lot worse.”
Up to 70 residents were affected by the crash and several homes sustained minor damage, but none of them were directly hit.
The crash caused damage to the home of Mark Sellers, who was shopping with his wife at the time, but his son Chris and nine-year-old granddaughter were inches from the scene.
He told Fox 4: “Very scary. We could have lost him and my granddaughter.”
