It will take time ‘Aloy’ to 100% Horizon Forbidden West.
Based on Horizon Forbidden West’s game director, to be 100 percent complete will take “several hundred hours”.
Director Mathijs de Jonge said that Forbidden West was about as long as Zero Dawn on average it takes between 60 hours and 100 percent. But he adds that those who are 100% on target will find that it takes a little longer, although the specifics are yet to be finalized. Including NG+, a few hundred hours would certainly make sense.
This news heats up the debate about Dying Light 2 which recently announced that it will take 500 hours to beat. Developer Techland is quick to explain that time spent with the finalists and you can finish the story in about 20 hours. However, it did start a conversation about the game is stuffed too much and too longsomething resurfaced with the Forbidden West runtime.
The reaction to the news was not positive. Surprisingly, people are emphasizing that hundreds of hours is simply too much, with one joking that they will be playing nothing but Dying Light 2 and Horizon Forbidden West for the next three years. Maybe that’s not too far-fetched – games are becoming bigger investments, after all.
Forbidden West is not far away, launching on February 18, 2022, so it won’t be long before we know exactly when this 100% Goliath of an open world game will be. Meanwhile, Dying Light 2 comes out on February 4th, so those are two big moments sunk within two weeks of each other. Good luck to those of you who get both.
