Hollywood legend Ryan Reynolds stuns Wrexham fans with incredibly generous gesture

HOLLYWOOD legend Ryan Reynolds has stunned Wrexham fans with an incredibly generous gesture.

The 46-year-old actor has grown in popularity in the Welsh town since he bought the National League football club in 2020.

He recently bought a £1.5million pad in Marford on the Wales-England border – just five miles from Wrexham.

And now he has left locals speechless after the club’s 3-2 win over Notts County on Easter Monday.

Before Ryan flew back to the US, he went to local pub The Turf and put £2,000 behind the bar for the players.

After the win, a fan told the Sunday Mirror: “Ryan wanted the celebration to be memorable.

“It was a nice gesture.”

Landlord Wayne Jones has said Ryan even lets him use his £4.3million New York home for a holiday.

Wayne said, “He’s really embraced the Wrexham community.”

When visiting the club, Ryan will now stay at his posh flat with wife Blake Lively, 35, and their children.

The sleepy town has just one co-op, one car dealership and one ice cream parlor – in stark contrast to the couple’s New York lifestyle.

A source said: “Ryan is moving to Marford and locals can only talk about it. His house is on the noblest street.

“The most famous person from Marford is Tim Vincent from Blue Peter, so a Hollywood star is a step up!

“It may not be the Big Apple, but the red carpet will be rolled out when Ryan comes to town.”

The Deadpool star is now a local hero after pumping much-needed cash into the team alongside co-owner and actor Rob McElhenney.

The friends bought the ailing Wrexham in November 2020 and have since spent £10million on the club, which is bidding for promotion to the Football League.
