James Martin Reveals His Best Mashed Potato Recipe

Holly Willoughby was abandoned this Monday morning when she realized what James Martin had put in her mashed potatoes.

The mother-of-three and her co-host Phillip Schofield invited the chef in ITV studio to demonstrate how he makes his winter stew.

When Holly, 40, and Phillip, 59, dunked a bowl of broth with some mashed potatoes, they were eager to find out how he made the side dish so delicious.

Phillip started by saying, “Wow, I was just looking at this mashed potato, I don’t know if I should scoop it out and stick it directly on my heart!”

“Is that 50/50 that’s the mash?” Then Holly asked, James replied, “Actually the same amount of butter, cream and potatoes.”

“Butter, cream and potatoes? So part three? James!” Holly said in shock.

“Well, it has salt and pepper,” he replied when Phillip said, “Almost no potatoes in it,” before adding, “It was the best ever!”

“I can’t stop eating this!” Holly admitted as James continued to explain how to make his white chicken stew.

At the end of the cooking segment, Holly says to James: “Thank you so much, that was absolutely delicious!”

However, some viewers watching at home were not impressed at all and watched Twitter to comment.

“@jamesmartinchef I wish James’ recipes were a little more inclusive and less extreme with the use of butter. In fact, some of us don’t like the taste of butter at all, even in good food on its own. Totally disgusting let alone unhealthy. Bad choice #ThisMorning,” one person posted.

A second tweeted: “God, James Martin is usually pretty good, but I wouldn’t feed my dog ​​#ThisMorning.”

And a third viewer added: “#ThisMorning This is James Martin’s thing. He’s a good cook but he’s messy and disorderly and he has a tendency to do unhealthy things!”
