‘He’s the best person to do it’

ANTHONY JOSHUA trolled rival Tyson Fury about his head-to-head record after the WBC world heavyweight champion announced his retirement.

The former WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO champion is gearing up for a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk after losing to the Ukrainian last year.

And while preparing to face Usyk, Joshua decided to take on another opponent in Fury.

Joshua responded to a fan who mocked Fury’s retirement plans after his April 23 fight with Dillian Whyte.

Fan said: “Tyson Fury says he’s the best person to do it with a resume [Derek] Chisora, [Wladimir] Klitschko, [Otto] Wallin and [Deontay] Wilder three times. “

Joshua quotes the tweet and quips: “He’s the best guy to do it, I can’t disagree.”

Joshua’s fight date with Usyk has yet to be decided, with the heavyweight champion back in his hometown.

Usyk returned to Ukraine to take up arms and fight the Russian invasion.

In the meantime, Joshua is ready to rematch Fury’s best friend Joseph Parker.

New Zealander Parker, 30, was defeated by AJ in 2018, and has volunteered to replace Usyk.

Joshua told Behind The Gloves: “Personally? I’ll fight no matter what. I’ll fight anything, no matter what.”
