‘He’s not lying’ – Hafthor Bjornsson admits Eddie Hall ‘can really punch’ but says ‘technique won’ in grudge-filled bout

Thor emerged victorious, with two kills and boasting his name, as he won by unanimous decision.
But disaster nearly struck in the second half with Bjornsson after a right hook left him roped and facing a standing number eight.
He is also bundled into the deck by Hall’s sheer strength – though the referee calls it a slip – with Thor still feeling the power.
Bjornsson, 33, said: “I also want to thank Eddie Hall and his team for giving a great performance, he gave me a hell of a fight.

“I’ve never been missed in practice, so he can really punch. He’s not lying! But today, I feel technique won.”
It is believed a rematch clause was included, for the bout to be dubbed the heaviest boxing match in history.
And their nearly five-year feud could still have another chapter after Bjornsson – nicknamed Thor – agreed to make a sequel.
He said: “Understandably he still seems a bit angry. He lost the game so that’s understandable.

“But I’m happy, if he wants a rematch, I’ll have a rematch no matter what. Do you guys want to see a rematch?”
Game of Thrones star Thor won the verdict by unanimous decision, all three judges scoring 54-57, as Thor praised his arch-nemesis Hall, 34.
