“He’s like a brick wall”

Before Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was full of praise for the goalkeeper David de Gea after his stellar first-half performance against Brentford. The Red Devils won 3-1 tonight.
De Gea was a major contributor to keeping the score 0-0 at half-time. Brentford had a couple of good chances to take the lead but were denied by the Spaniard.
Midfielder Mathias Jensen was twice denied a goal by De Gea in the first half. The 31-year-old defender used his foot to deny Ong the chance to take the lead.
At break, Rio Ferdinand speak following on BT Sport:
“Without De Gea maybe two or three. He’s like a brick wall, how many times have we sat here and said that.”
Brentford coach Thomas Frank also praised the performance of the number one team Manchester United. He say:
“It was one of those nights, playing fair with David de Gea, if we get those chances again, one man will score in the net.”

David de Gea has redeemed himself this season after last season’s disappointing Europa League final. Currently, the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper has made the most saves in the Premier League with 81 saves.
Simply put, second-placed Lukasz Fabianski has made just 70 saves this campaign.
David de Gea’s renaissance has plagued reserve goalkeeper Dean Henderson for regular game time. The England international has only made four appearances for the Red Devils this season. Henderson is currently rumored to want to leave Old Trafford.
A clinical performance in the second half secured three points for Manchester United
Manchester United reversed form in the second half and scored three goals to take all three points against Brentford. Goals from Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford were enough to get United back on the winning track.
The Red Devils also became the first team in the Premier League to have 300 away wins in the competition’s history.
Despite a convincing win over the Bees, United are still 7th in the league standings. Coach Ralf Rangnick’s team has now accumulated 35 points from 21 games this season.
