ROMA boss Jose Mourinho was delighted after his old pal Brendan Rodgers gave him a bottle of his ‘favorite wine’ from Portugal.
The Italian team traveled to King Power Stadium to play Leicester in the first leg of their Europa Conference League semi-final game.
Rodgers’ Foxes were separated by a Gianluca Mancini own goal in a 1-1 draw that nullified Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini’s first-half goal.
Mourinho was delighted to learn old pal Rodgers had a “really expensive” bottle of Portuguese wine for him.
The pair worked together when Rodgers was manager at Chelsea academy during Mourinho’s first spell at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho insists Rodgers is ‘crying’ because the gift was so expensive.
The special said: “He brought me the best bottle of Portuguese wine.
“He’s crying because it’s very expensive! But he wanted to give me my favorite bottle of Portuguese wine and it’s very hard to find.
“I don’t know how he found it [it]. I know how he paid!”
Whether he plans to drink the wine sooner or later, Mourinho revealed he will be “drinking next week” regardless of the result of the second leg.

He continued, “I think I’ll have a drink next week no matter what [the result is].
“But I’m glad to see him. I’m happy with the career he’s making and we share a wish.
“The winner of the Roma final must win the Albanian final.”
Rodgers was full of praise for Mourinho after Thursday’s draw.
He praised “top manager” Mourinho, whose teams “always make it difficult”.
Rodgers said, “He’s a top manager. Always has been and always will be.
“Jose’s teams will always give you a hard time, but I really enjoyed the game.”
