A HERO father dies after saving his four-year-old daughter from a house fire caused by an explosion in Charlotte, Michigan.
The father was thrown from the house after the explosion but still ran inside to save his young daughter, a decision that ultimately took his life.
Jeremy Droscha suffered second and third degree burns to 60% of his body before dying from his injuries.
“We are saddened to share the passing of Jeremy Droscha due to injury in a house fire,” reads a post from the Eaton County Fairground Facebook page.
“Jeremy is a huge asset to our board, but more importantly, a great friend to all of us.”
Droscha served as vice chairman of the board, according to the organization. A pancake benefit is being held to raise money for the Droscha family.
The father’s death was also confirmed by the family in a Facebook post. GoFundMe . Page was also created to help the Droscha family cover the costs.
Cheryl Pletz, fundraiser, wrote: “I have to share that Jeremy went home to Heavenly Father shortly after midnight last night with a heavy heart.
“Please continue to pray [sic] to the whole family and thank you for all the love and support you have shown. ”
Droscha’s daughter, Aubrey, escaped with some minor burns with the help of her father. According to Droscha’s cousin, Adam Droscha, the little girl “remains who she is” despite her fear.
Adam Droscha said: “She understood that this was not her usual day. “But she was bright and bubbly and playful.
The family has a goal of $100,000 and has raised over $87,000 so far.
Adam Droscha said: “We’re just asking people to continue to support, not just because of the medical costs, but because their home is gone and their life and comfort are gone.
