Henry Cavill Says The Witcher Season 2’s Timeline Is “Clearer”

“It’s hard to keep track of those things, especially when you’re following three different characters,” said Geralt of Rivia actor Henry Cavill speak. “Even if you know the lore, it’s two of the characters in a completely original story. It’s hard to keep up with it.”

The Witcher one of Netflix’s the most famous show, based on the novel of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski. Since they were first published, they have grown into a beloved multimedia series with video games and superfilm, but the first live-action show had one major glitch – its chronology. The story is told in paragraphs, jumping backwards and forwards in time, and this confuses the viewer. The second part deals with that complaint.

“I think it’s a little clearer,” Cavill told Digital Spy. “And I think that’s a good thing.” He also directly responded to responses saying the complaints were “completely fair.” But hopefully, the more streamlined, traditional approach will be easier for viewers – already, it’s been a hit with critics. It boasts a 93 percent Rotten Tomatoes score while audiences are currently sitting at 72 percent approval.

Cavill also spoke to Digital Spy about the “taxing” footage for the second season as it was filmed in epidemic. This means tighter restrictions on the set to ensure the safety of the cast and crew.

“I think the hardest thing about the whole pandemic is having everyone wear masks on set because it removes a lot of the human component,” Cavill said. “You can’t shake people’s hands. You can’t hug them and you can’t see their faces. They can see my face, but I can’t see theirs, so I’m lacking a lot of ordinary people the signal you get.

“And especially if… In our scripts, we are not massively expressive with our eyes. So you’re guessing what’s going on underneath the mask. ”

The Witcher is back on Netflix for a second season right now. In short, it begins with Geralt believing Yennefer died at the Battle of Sodden, choosing to take Ciri to Kaer Morhen for safekeeping. If you’re a fan of the game and want to know more about Ciri’s story, you’re in luck. The ending of the series is also tease an upcoming spin-off about the first wizard, Blood Origin, so there’s a lot for fans to explore.
