‘He’d answer Brady’s call’ – Rob Gronkowski’s agent believes the star could return THIS season after Buc’s tight-end retires

ROB GRONKOWSKI would “take the call” according to his agent if Tom Brady tried a second time to coax him out of retirement.

The 33-year-old Buccaneers tight end retired June 21 after 11 years in the league.

It’s the second time Gronkowski has given up his pads after briefly leaving the game in 2019.

During his absence from the game, Gronk had a brief fling with WWE before Brady lured him to Tampa Bay.

He returned to help the Buc win the Super Bowl in 2020 before narrowly failing in the playoffs a year later.

And according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Gronk’s agent Drew Rosenhaus believes the same thing could happen again — if Brady calls.

Former NBA Trail Blazers star and Purdue player dies of'natural causes' aged 25.

Rosenhaus tells ESPN: “It wouldn’t surprise me if Tom Brady calls him to come back during the season and Rob takes the call.

“That’s just my opinion but I wouldn’t be surprised if Rob comes back during the season or next season.”

Gronkowski was an unrestricted free agent after his contract with Florida ended after the 2021 season.

He had teased his retirement in April after telling TMZ he was “not ready to commit to football right now.”

And he confirmed in an emotional Instagram post on June 21 that he had decided to leave the NFL.

His statement read: “I want to thank the entire world class Buccaneers organization for an amazing ride and have faith in my coming back to play and help build a championship team.

“I will now return to my retirement home and walk away from football again with my head held high, knowing that I have given everything I had, good or bad, every time I stepped onto the field.

“The friendships and relationships I’ve formed will last forever and I appreciate each and every one of my teammates and coaches for giving their all as well.”

“From retirement back to football and winning another league and now back to chilling thanks everyone.

“Cheers to what’s next, maybe out to sea. ARghhhhh!”

Gronkowski was part of Brady’s dynasty with the New England Patriots, where the former University of Arizona star won three Super Bowl rings.

In his illustrious career, he caught 621 passes for 9,286 yards and 92 touchdowns in the NFL.

Brady himself announced his own retirement earlier this year, only to turn back weeks later.

He will lead the Bucs into the 2022 season, which they begin on September 11 against the Dallas Cowboys.
