Connor Chapman, 22, has now been charged with her murder.
Hundreds of tearful mourners gathered today to pay their respects to Elle.
The beautician is buried at St Nicholas Church in Wallasey.
Elle was taken on her final journey in a white carriage pulled by horses adorned with pink feathers.
Her father, Tim, helped carry his daughter’s coffin to church, complete with white, red, and pink roses.
A private service will be held afterwards at the Landican Cemetery and Crematorium.
The horror unfolded on Christmas Eve when makeup artist Elle enjoyed a drink in the Lighthouse Inn’s outdoor seating area.
It is believed the shooter received a tip that a man he had broken up with a few days earlier was among the drinkers.
As the area was riddled with bullets, Elle was tragically blown up in the head.
She was taken to the hospital along with four men, but unfortunately could not be saved.

Speaking on behalf of the grieving family, her father Tim Edwards said: “There was no one quite as beautiful as our Elle May, her looks, her laugh and the way she lit up a room as soon as she walked in.
“There was this way about her that you fell in love with her as soon as you met her, and everyone who met Elle knew just how special she was.”
The statement added: “Her laughter was contagious. Everyone who was around her was having a good time, she loved her life and had so many amazing plans for the future.
“She was just getting started. Christmas and our family will never be the same without her. She was the glue that held this big family of all of us together.
“We will love and miss her forever. Our Elle May, the most beautiful and brightest star out there, forever and ever.”
Chapman is charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder and three counts of wrongful and malicious bodily harm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He is also accused of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life in connection with a converted Skorpion submachine gun.

Chapman was remanded in custody ahead of an April 17 hearing at Liverpool Crown Court.
