Heartbreaking moment Princess Charlotte, 7, cries after the Queen’s funeral – leaving royal fans devastated

PRINCESS Charlotte cried in a heartbreaking moment this afternoon following the Queen’s emotional funeral.

The seven-year-old queen wiped her eyes and was comforted by mum Kate Middleton after saying goodbye to her beloved great-grandmother.

She had bravely remained incredibly composed during the massive ceremony at Westminster Hall.

And she was only seen crying as Her Majesty’s coffin was lowered into the hearse at Wellington Arch.

Fans were devastated by the scenes this afternoon. One wrote: “Is Princess Charlotte crying? Stop!”

Another said: “I didn’t think I would cry and then I heard the whistles start and then saw Princess Charlotte cry as the coffin stopped at the end as it was going from the gun carriage to the car.”

Charlotte’s older brother Prince George, nine, was also comforted during the funeral service as he appeared emotional.

The Princess of Wales placed a comforting hand on her eldest son’s leg after he rubbed his eye.

He sat between his mother and father and Charlotte sat next to Kate and watched.

And there were emotional scenes when the two children entered Westminster Abbey with their parents.

They were expected to be absent from the funeral, but it is understood the new Prince and Princess of Wales decided it was important for them to be there.

Mother-of-three Kate was seen putting a reassuring hand on her eldest children’s shoulders as they entered the memorial.

George sang The Day Thou Gavest, Lord, Is Ended while standing between his parents.

Charlotte could be seen looking around from under the brim of her hat as the mourners sang The Lord’s My Shepherd.

During the Archbishop of Canterbury’s homily, George read the regulations while Sister Charlotte whispered to her mother.

At one point, the youngsters could be seen alongside their aunt, Meghan Markle.

The family then took a seat alongside leaders from around the world to bid farewell to Britain’s longest reigning monarch.

After the funeral, Charlotte joined Camilla and Kate in a car as they followed a procession to Wellington Arch.

George, meanwhile, was seen rising as he left with other royals.
