Heartbreaking final pictures of missing Summer Wells shared by Tennessee cops in emotional statement marking her 7th birthday

SUMMER Wells’ family celebrates her seventh birthday as the harrowing search for her continues.

This is the second birthday Summer’s heartbroken family has had without her since she mysteriously disappeared from their home in the summer of 2021.

“Today, February 4th, is Summer Wells’ 7th birthday,” tweeted the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation along with some of Summer’s final pictures before she disappeared.

The TBI added that the girl has been missing for almost 20 months.

“We haven’t forgotten her and we won’t either. Agents continue to investigate the circumstances of her disappearance.”

A video of Summer’s parents Don and Candus Wells was posted on February 3 for Summer’s birthday, with pictures of her and candles on a cake being blown out.

“Thank you to everyone who continues to pray to our Lord Jesus Christ for his perfect timing to find out what happened to Summer,” the description reads.

“We miss her beyond words and emotions. Please think of our boys. Please pray for our family to be restored and the great joy the five of us will have when Summer lives and is found safely. We need your prayers daily.

Summer was just five years old when she disappeared and hasn’t been seen since.

Her father Don was released from prison on Oct. 30 after an Oct. 30 intoxication arrest while mother Candus is being treated for a heart condition.

And her pain only increased after her three sons were taken into care six weeks after Summers disappeared from the family home in tiny Hawkins County.

But that hasn’t stopped her from celebrating her beloved Summer’s birthday, although they have no idea where she is.

Don broke his silence Thursday night and spoke of preparing for a “worst-case scenario” in which authorities are no closer to finding Summer, whose Amber Alert remains active.

The Wells family insists someone broke into their home and kidnapped their daughter, but critics of the case have cast doubt on their claims, which has angered the family.

In a speech in 2021, Don admitted the allegations got him out of control.

In his most recent interview, he confirmed that his boys kept in touch with his wife while he was on duty.

After his release, however, he said, “All of a sudden I was, we weren’t allowed to contact her at all.”

He criticized the government agency for not helping him and his wife regain custody of their children.

The Department of Children’s Services “did nothing to help us,” he told WJHL.

“In fact they make us jump through all kinds of hoops, which is almost impossible to jump through and have a job and do all those things and make it really, really hard for us.”

Wells contemplated how Summer could have been over a year and a half since she was last seen.

“I don’t really want to celebrate her birthday without her,” the heartbroken dad said.

“She would definitely grow tall, probably as tall as me I’d say because she’s grown so quickly.

“I’m sure she would be the same person.

“And she had no qualms about taking on her brothers, that’s for sure.

“She didn’t hesitate to put her in her place very quickly.”

Summer was last seen planting flowers in her front yard before heading inside to play at 6.30pm.

No evidence has ever been found to support claims of her abduction, and with both parents having criminal records, outsiders have cast doubt on her claims.

Don was arrested for domestic assault in 2020, prompting Candus to seek a protection order against him.

Candus also has a criminal record in the state of Wisconsin, most recently in 2003 for disorderly conduct.

However, she later filed for the order to be overturned, and the charges against Donald were dropped two months before Summer’s disappearance.

Local officials stress that everything is being done.

“Not a day goes by that we don’t review this case,” Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson told The Rogersville Review.

“It’s definitely not a cold case, and everything is still on the table.

“No one wants to find her more than we do.”
