THIS is the hilarious moment Giorgio Chiellini decided to “play volleyball” for new club Los Angeles FC.
The Italy and Juventus legend, 37, had a moment of madness in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Real Salt Lake as he desperately tried to stop an attack.
Chiellini has just joined LAFC on a free transfer after 18 years in Turin, with Welsh star Gareth Bale a new team-mate.
Chiellini is regarded as a top-notch centre-back and his impressive trophy haul shows he’s a born winner.
And despite leading 3-1 in yesterday’s MLS clash, LAFC showed just 20 minutes from time why he’s racked up so many gold medals.
Real Salt Lake tries to hit their opponents with a counterattack by shooting the ball across the field.
But instead of making a challenge, Chiellni decided to do something completely different instead.
He leaped into the air with his 6ft 2in frame, with the crowd expecting a powerful header attack.
However, Chiellini instead raised both arms before using them to swipe the ball away from an oncoming Real Salt Lake attacker.
Fans couldn’t believe what they just saw as Chiellini tried to plead his innocence.

But the referee didn’t show anything and gave the Italian a yellow card for his more than intended handball.
Chiellini’s actions certainly caused a stir on social media, with one fan tweeting, “He was playing volleyball there!”
Another asked, “Why isn’t that red?”
One joked: “Top quality, absolutely essential.”
Another added: “This is the worst handball since Maradona.”
