But Olympic gold medalist Angle, 54, has now revealed Hogan told him he had recently lost all feeling in his lower body following recent back surgery.
Speaking on his self-titled The Kurt Angle Show, he said: “Hogan had another operation on his back.
“He had the nerves cut out of his lower body. He can’t feel his lower body. So [he] uses his cane to walk around.
“I thought he was going to use the cane because he had back pain. He’s not in pain. He has nothing at all. He can’t feel anything.
“So now he can’t feel his legs anymore. So he has to walk with a cane, which is pretty serious, man.
“I mean, I really feel for Hogan. He put his heart and soul into the business and [it] ate him up.
“I mean, when you start the show, the 30th anniversary of Raw, [it] should be Hulk Hogan. He is the name and the face of the company. He’s the guy who revolutionized pro wrestling.
“I have so much respect for him.”
Hogan has yet to address Angle’s claims.
It comes after Hogan left WWE fans worried last week when he posted two bizarre tweets on social media.
After initially tweeting a simple “help,” Hogan followed it up with, “I’m out of toilet paper bro help!!!!!!!!”.
The legendary entertainer is one of the most significant wrestlers in WWE’s long history.
He appeared alongside Jimmy Hart on Raw XXX last week.
