Having played just 13 minutes all season, Liverpool’s flop is ‘untouchable’ after reviving his career with European giants.

LIVERPOOL flop Arthur Melo enjoyed a stunning career revival after failing to play a single Premier League game for the Reds.

The Brazilian midfielder moved to Italian club Fiorentina on loan from Juventus in the summer.

But after just five games with his new club, Arthur is now considered “untouchable”.

Fiorentina are currently in eighth place in Serie A after three games, having won one, drawn one and lost one.

Arthur was in the starting line-up in all three of these games as well as in the two Europa Conference League qualifiers against Rapid Vienna.

It’s a stunning turnaround for the 27-year-old after his dismal loan spell at Liverpool last season.

The Reds signed Arthur on loan from Juventus after he suffered an injury crisis in midfield.

However, Arthur suffered an injury and missed more than half the season after undergoing thigh surgery, which he sustained in training earlier in the season.

By the time he returned from the sidelines, Liverpool’s midfield had largely regained its strength.

As a result, Arthur ended up playing just one game for Liverpool – a 13-minute cameo in the Champions League against Napoli in September, when Jurgen Klopp’s side lost 4-1.

When Arthur moved to Fiorentina, he admitted his poor injury history “made it difficult” for him.

However, he insisted: “I am different than before, I am better. I learned a lot and feel in good shape mentally and physically.”

“At Fiorentina I want to win and learn, then we’ll see what happens.”

Arthur, who has replaced on-loan Manchester United star Sofyan Amrabat in the Italian team’s midfield, was highly praised by club captain Giacamo Bonaventura.

As quoted by ASHe explained: “Playing with Arthur is a joy, he will give us a lot and he covers his ‘new’ position perfectly.”
