Harmony Montgomery’s mum breaks silence after Adam, the five-year-old’s father, was ‘murdered’ on charges linked to her death

THE mother of a missing five-year-old girl has broken her silence after the boy’s father was charged in connection with her death.

Harmony Montogomgery’s disappearance was first reported to police in November 2021 after her mother, Crystal Sorey, said she had been trying to contact her daughter for months.

The little girl’s father, Adam Montogomery, 32, was indicted by a grand jury on Friday on second-degree murder.

After the decision, Crystal Sorey told WMUR she was relieved at the decision but angry that “he [Adam] still hasn’t said where she is”.

She added: “Obviously I knew it was going to happen.

“But when it does, it’s a very different feeling than you’d expect.”

Sorey said she “just” wants her daughter “at home.”

Adam Montgomery is accused of repeatedly hitting his daughter in the head with a closed fist in December 2019.

He also faces charges of abusing a corpse, falsifying physical evidence and tampering with witnesses, reports Boston25.

Harmony lived in Manchester, New Hampshire with her father and stepmother Kayla Montgomery, 32.

Sorey said she last saw her daughter during a video call around Easter 2019.

Kayla has pleaded guilty to two counts of perjury after lying to a New Hampshire grand jury.

As part of her plea deal, Kayla has agreed to cooperate with state proceedings that may involve testifying in husband Adam Montgomery’s murder trial.

Harmony was born in Massachusetts in 2014.

According to a report this year by the Massachusetts Office of the Child Advocate, her parents were single, no longer together, and had a history of drug use.

Adam Montgomery was in prison when she was born.

Blind in one eye and with behavioral problems, she was taken into the care of Child Protective Services in Massachusetts at the age of two months.

According to the report, she was moved back and forth between the homes of her mother and her foster parents on a number of occasions, causing “significant trauma and damage.”

Adam Montgomery was awarded custody of Harmony in February 2019.

Harmony lived in squatter-like conditions in a messy house where neighbors reported multiple fights and possible child abuse, according to police reports obtained through file requests by The US Sun.

According to police reports, officers responded to the home at least 16 times between January 2019 and January 2020.

Kayla lied about when and where she was when Harmony was last seen in November 2019, prosecutors said.

She was sentenced to three and a half to seven years in the New Hampshire State Penitentiary as a result of her pleading.
