A 7-year-old girl from Manchester, New Hampshire, was reported missing this week, despite not being seen for two years.
She has not been seen in Manchester since.
“For us, the two-year delay, that’s extremely worrying,” Aldenberg said.
“It’s not something that happens to us on a regular basis. It doesn’t happen every day.”
According to Aldenberg, the Manchester Police Department learned of the girl’s disappearance last week.
The sheriff also revealed that “many family members” were spoken to as the investigation continued.
However, it is unclear whether Montgomery’s parents spoke to investigators.
Aldenberg also stated that “all available resources” and personnel are being devoted to finding the young girl.
The girl is described as 4 feet tall and weighs about 50 pounds.
She has blonde hair and blue eyes and wears glasses.
WBZ News Radio reports that Montgomery is blind in his right eye.
Aldenberg added that an Amber Alert announcement has yet to be made because there is no specific information or threat regarding the girl’s disappearance.
It remains a “very active investigation,” Aldenberg said, adding that they were not looking for anyone but Montgomery.
The sheriff is “begging” for the community’s help in finding Montgomery.
“I don’t care if you saw this young lady a year ago and you think it’s unrelated, give us a call.”
Manchester Police is urging anyone with information to call (603) 668-8711.
