‘Handsome’ father of two stabbed ‘after being followed home after argument over ‘something stupid’ at pub’

A DAD has been stabbed to death after allegedly being stalked by his pal following an argument at a village pub.

Grant Bradley, 46, and Marcus Dunkerton, 40, fell out over “something stupid” when the argument turned violent on Friday night.

Bradley is said to have followed Marcus on the half-mile journey back to his home in Charfield, Gloucs, before stabbing the father to death at his front door.

The emergency services were in an uproar with horror, but unfortunately Marcus could not be rescued and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bradley has now been charged with murder and possession of an assault weapon.

He is due to appear in Bristol Magistrates Court tomorrow.

An employee at the Railway Tavern, where the couple had been drinking in front of the row, told how both men were “off their faces”.

The bar worker added: “They’re both very normal likable guys but while drinking they started arguing about something stupid I don’t know what and within seconds they were beating the hell out of each other.

“It started from nothing.”

Locals in the leafy Cotswolds village have expressed shock at the murder.

A neighbor paid tribute to Marcus, saying: “He seemed friendly and pleasant.

“He had two kids with his wife and they all moved in about two years ago. That seems like a nice family.”

Avon and Somerset Police are appealing to anyone who was in the pub between 9pm and 11pm on Friday to come forward.

They confirmed they had received reports of a “previous incident” involving the two men.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker said: “Our hearts go out to Marcus’ family who are faced with such a devastating loss. They are being assisted by specially trained officers and have asked for privacy in their grief.

“We continue to collect evidence to understand what happened.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who has seen or has seen CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of a man walking from the pub to Thames Close, or Bradley leaving that address.”

Anyone with information can call the police on 101 on 5222150363.
