HAJDUK SPLIT’s training session was attended by 3,000 rioting fans ahead of Wednesday’s eternal derby with rivals Dinamo Zagreb.
Die-hard Hajduk supporters appeared with torches and banners to motivate the players ahead of their tough clash with their Croatian opponents at the Poljud Stadium.
Fans crowded the stands at the team’s training facility during their penultimate training session on Monday.
The chants didn’t stop for a minute and are expected to continue tomorrow as 26,000 tickets have already been sold.
This comes after the Split side announced they had reached 70,000 members, which is the highest number in the football club’s history.
Fan support has increased significantly over the past few months as Hajduk has improved compared to last season.
The two rivals have already played twice this season and Hajduk has held the bragging rights so far.
Their first meeting came at the Maksimir Stadium in December, where the visitors won 2-0 thanks to goals from Marko Livaja and Emir Sahiti.
And last month’s second leg in Split ended in a goalless draw.
Dinamo leads the table, two points behind second-placed Osijek.
