Gun violence erupts in US shootings over Halloween weekend, killing 8 and injuring 44, including a 12-year-old boy

AT LEAST eight people have been killed and 44 shot dead in shootings over Halloween weekend in the US so far.
A 12-year-old boy was among dozens of people injured as crime ravaged cities like Pittsburgh, Houston and Chicago.

Shootings in Chicago claimed the lives of three and injured 16 others during the citywide weekend rioting, police said.
One victim was a 12-year-old boy who was walking near a sidewalk around 5pm on Saturday night when he was shot in the leg, officials said.
Another person was killed and three others injured in shootings near Minneapolis.
The deadly shooting happened at the scene of a house fire before midnight on Friday and is the 72nd death investigated as a homicide in the city so far this year, according to CBS News.


Communities in Pittsburgh were shaken after gunfire erupted outside a church where a funeral was being held on Friday, police said.
The shooting scare injured six, and police officers said some of the victims attended the service in what is believed to be a targeted incident.
“We feel like there are people out there who are resorting to gun violence, and it’s a danger to anyone if that could happen,” Pittsburgh Police Commander Richard Ford said, according to CNN.
A Halloween party at an Airbnb in Phoenix ended in violence after a shooting broke out early Saturday morning, officials said.
Two people were arrested on unrelated charges and thankfully no one was injured during the event.
A store customer was tragically killed Saturday night after a harrowing shooting at a mall in Danville, Virginia, police said.
Shoppers have been ordered to remain in place while police investigate what is believed to be an isolated incident, WDBJ7 reported. The suspect is still at large.
Six others were injured in a horrific drive-by shooting outside an Orange County nightclub early Saturday morning, police said.
“When it all happened I was just shocked,” a shocked witness told Fox 35.
“I threw myself on the ground.”
Officials announced that no one has been taken into custody at this time.
According to the NYPD, two people were shot dead during violent overnight actions in New York.
Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries and no arrests were made.
Houston also saw fatal shootings after one person was killed and another injured in a double shooting at a donut shop, police said.
Another person was killed after a physical altercation led to a horror shooting at a bar in Fountain, Colorado, police officers said.
The suspect – 25-year-old Robert Kristo – was arrested by detectives and charged with first-degree manslaughter.
Six people have been injured so far this Halloween weekend in Indiana after multiple horror shootings ravaged the state.
Two of the Indiana victims were struck in South Bend while the other four were struck in Indianapolis, officials confirmed.
In Philadelphia, three people were hospitalized after gunfire erupted at a vigil.
The Philadelphia Police Department said three suspects drove to the scene around 7 p.m. Saturday and opened fire.
And officers raced to a crime scene in Jacksonville, Fla., where a young man was reportedly shot dead on Saturday night.
Jacksonville police are working to gather more information about the horrific crime.
