Gulfshore Business provides live coverage of the Naples Winter Wine Festival auction

Business on the shore will be live on Saturday afternoon of the 22nd annual Naples Winter Wine Festival auction, where millions of dollars will be raised to benefit local nonprofits working with children in the area.

Since its inception in 2001, the Naples Winter Wine Festival, founded by the Naples Children & Education Foundation, has raised nearly $220 million for underprivileged and at-risk children in County Collier. This weekend’s event has grown into one of the world’s most prestigious charity wine auctions featuring world-class food and wine.

After a year of mostly social distancing, the wine festival is back with a live charity event this weekend themed “Rise – Twenty Twenty Twenty”. Intimate Friday dinners with chefs and waiters at their Naples home will be watched Saturday by Auction, scheduled from 1pm to 5pm at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in North Naples.

Around 600 people attending the auction will bid on 43 lots of wine, jewelry, international trips and a variety of one-of-a-kind experiences. This year’s event, after a year when the pandemic kept people apart, is expected to be one of the most successful ever. The auction to beat is the 20th anniversary event in 2020 when $20 million was raised.

“We are thrilled to continue our live under-tent auction with friends and generous supporters across the country,” said Valerie Boyd, a founding commissioner of the NCEF. “Together, we will rise up on behalf of the most vulnerable children in Collier County. We anticipate the best and boldest events with a great weekend full of energy, high spirits and high bids. ”

Festival spokeswoman Lisa Juliano said the average auction lot sold for around $275,000. “The generosity of our patrons is amazing,” she said.

That generosity has enabled NCEF to deliver annual grants that impact more than 50 of the most effective nonprofits in the community, make a profound difference, and provide over 275,000 children with educational services. services and resources needed to excel.

Business on the shore will be available this year to provide the winning bid for each lot as well as a live tally of the total proceeds at the auction.
