Gruesome details emerge after an extremely decomposed, insect-infested and animal-eaten body was found in a sewer

An extremely decomposed body was found in a Florida canal, infested with insects and partially eaten by animals.
Authorities are still investigating and an autopsy has been ordered.

Police called at around 8:20 am on June 27 at the 10000 area of 90th Street in Boynton Beach, Florida.
They got a call about a body that had been found on the south side of a canal.
Investigators believe the person may have died long ago.
After its time in the canal, the body was in various states of decomposition.


In addition, the body had been infested with insects and destroyed by various animals and insects.
The body has not yet been identified.
Police, detectives and a coroner were called to the scene.
The body was taken to the coroner, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the approximate time and cause of death.
The Violent Crimes Unit is also reportedly involved in the investigation.


Although little information is currently available, the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that “more information will be released as it becomes available.”
The police department also told the Boca Post that the body had apparently been in the canal for a very long time.
