The Mariners secured a place in the Quarterfinals for the first time in 84 years with a 2-1 away win.
However, following their win over the ailing Premier League side, the team’s social media team posted a short video of Harvey on their Twitter page.
In the clip, Harvey said, “What a day,” while the post’s caption read, “Signing off for the night! Enjoy your night, Town fans.”
Harvey, 20, has Prader-Willi Syndrome, autism, ADHD and partial blindness.
Some followers criticized the post, thinking it mocked Katie Price’s son, whose father is Dwight Yorke.
One wrote: “This is Grimsby getting hammered. Making hell hot for the disabled people after the win. What a lousy club.”
Another asked: “What do you mean by that?”
A third person said: “This is extremely distasteful. Will be very interesting to see what the FA says.
“They either genuinely believe in inclusion and advocate for disability, or they tolerate making disability a joke.”
The offending tweet was deleted from Grimsby Town’s Twitter page this morning and the club apologized.
A statement said: “We have come to realize that an inappropriate GIF was posted on the club’s official Twitter account after our game against Southampton in the Emirates FA Cup last night.
“The post was removed this morning as soon as it was brought to our attention.
“We would like to apologize from the bottom of our hearts for any insult this may have caused.”
The club board were delighted to win at St Mary’s thanks to a brace from Gavan Holohan.
A statement said: “We are delighted to reach the quarter-finals of this year’s Emirates FA Cup and make competition history in the process.
“Last night’s 2-1 Premier League win Southampton embodied everything we have come to expect from Paul Hurst’s side over the past 18 months – it was a performance brimming with determination, determination and moments of quality that left memories that will last become lifetime.”
Just two weeks ago, Katie released a letter from the Met Police saying their officers were facing a misconduct case for alleged involvement in a WhatsApp group that targeted her son.
