Greg Gutfeld returns to Fox News TONIGHT in his first appearance in a long time talking about his mother-in-law in Ukraine

After a long absence due to hot coverage of the war in Ukraine, Greg Gutfeld returned to Fox News and shared about his mother-in-law.

It took him a few seconds to talk about his absence, saying it was for “good reason.”

“We took a few weeks off, and for good reason,” he said in his opening monologue. “This is a news channel and war is news, in fact it is breaking news and always breaking out.

“But you can’t spell ‘breaking news’ without a break, and sometimes we need a break.”

With normally quick-witted sarcasm, Gutfeld talks about his absence from the air as well as his personal life.

Gutfeld said his wife, Elena Moussa, is in Warsaw with her mother-in-law. He thanked his colleagues at Fox News, who he said helped his mother-in-law escape the country.

“And meanwhile my mother escaped from Ukraine to Poland and no, she didn’t go out riding a broom,” he replied with a laugh.

“Thanks to Fox, I was able to get my mother-in-law out of Kyiv, which is a pretty amazing story.”

He added that his mother-in-law was picked up in a small village and made an hour-long journey to Poland.

According to tweets from the show’s official Twitter account, Gutfeld was briefly taken off.

He further explained that the show will skip the regular broadcasts to get more coverage Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Greg’s mother-in-law was able to evacuate from Ukraine to Poland and reunited with her daughter in Warsaw.

During a segment on The Five, he played a clip of the tearful reunion between his wife, Elena Gutfeldand her mother, in front of the Renaissance Hotel in Warsaw, said to her mother in Russian: “Thank God”.

Elena said waiting for her mother was “absolutely horrible.”

SAYING GUTFELD

Gutfeld joined Dagen McDowell, Bill Hemmer, Kat Timpf and current NWA world television champion Tyrus to talk about the latest news and pop culture.

Gutfeld addressed many subjects but mainly Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and President Joe Biden’s handling of it.

He also took pictures on the former Empire actor Jussie Smollettwho is was convicted on Thursday after fabricating a “racist and homophobic” hate crime against himself in 2019.

Gutfeld argued that Smollett should have faced harsher punishment for his crimes.

“His greed and lust for fame made America’s race relations worse,” he said.
